Chibi character design
Also called Super deformed · Super-deformed characters
Chibi character design relates to the Japanese sense of smallness, enlarging the head while shortening the body and simplifying limbs. Distinctive eyes, hair, and costume signs remain or grow more prominent. Direct expressions and gestures suit playful illustrations, merchandise, and reaction images, allowing even a serious character to reveal a more endearing side.
