Glassmorphic UI
Also called Glassmorphism
Glassmorphism groups frosted-glass interface effects under a name introduced by Michał Malewicz in 2020. Translucent surfaces, background blur and fine highlights suggest layered space, while colours show through from behind; readable text and clearly defined controls remain essential above the softened background.

Key traits
- 01Use translucent panels that reveal background colors and forms, with opacity chosen to preserve hierarchy.
- 02Blur imagery behind a panel while keeping its text, icons and primary actions sharp.
- 03Suggest panel boundaries and depth with fine bright edges, subtle inner highlights or shadows.
- 04Arrange visible background variation and measured overlap so the glass effect comes from relationships between layers, without requiring gradients or rounded cards.
