Gongbi
Also called Gongbi painting
Gongbi is a meticulous approach to Chinese painting, with gong suggesting carefully cultivated brushwork and execution. Artists usually establish forms through precise outlines, then build colour and shading in layers as needed, although a work may remain in ink outline alone. Rich detail depends on line quality, spatial restraint and the vitality of the whole.
