Also called Long Exposure · Slow-shutter photography
Long-exposure photography keeps the shutter open to accumulate light and movement over time. Stationary structures stay defined while pedestrians may fade away, water becomes smooth, and vehicle lights draw continuous lines. Different rates of change within the scene make time itself a visible material of the composition.
